Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN)
The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is the operational arm of the Technology Mechanism under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). CTCN provides technical assistance to developing countries in the development, deployment, and transfer of technologies that support climate change mitigation and adaptation.
As part of its cooperation with the CTCN, the Kyrgyz Republic completed a Technology Needs Assessment (TNA). The assessment identified the country's priority climate technologies and defined measures to support their deployment in order to achieve national climate objectives.
The Technology Needs Assessment identified priority technologies in the following sectors:
- energy;
- agriculture;
- water resources;
- forestry;
- transport;
- climate change adaptation.
