United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

This is an international agreement adopted in 1992 at the Rio de Janeiro Summit, which aims to unite countries' efforts to combat the consequences of dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. The ultimate goal of the Convention is to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations at a level that would prevent dangerous impacts on the climate.

The Kyrgyz Republic acceded to the Convention by Law No. 11 of the Kyrgyz Republic dated January 14, 2000
New York City dated May 9, 1992.

Kyrgyzstan, like 196 other states and the European Union, is a party to the Convention, which obliges it to participate in the fight against climate change.
