Components
- modernization and expansion of the national air quality monitoring system;
- installation of automatic and semi-automatic air quality monitoring stations;
- strengthening the laboratory and technical capacity of Kyrgyzhydromet;
- development of air quality forecasting and data management systems;
- improvement of urban green infrastructure, irrigation, and water protection systems;
- project management and institutional capacity building.
Key Achievements
- preparatory work has been completed for the installation of 11 automatic air quality monitoring stations in Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balta, Tokmok, and Cholpon-Ata;
- modernization of eight manual and semi-automatic monitoring stations has been planned;
- contracts have been signed for the procurement of laboratory equipment for Kyrgyzhydromet;
- design documentation is being prepared for a modern air quality laboratory and data processing center in Bishkek;
- the Green Belt of Bishkek concept has been developed.
